Overview

Nakel (“we”, “us”) operates nakeldev.com and the Keep Awake Windows app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

What the desktop app collects

The free app runs mostly offline. It does not sell your data or show third-party ad networks inside the app.

Local settings — preferences, timers, and optional custom sound paths are stored on your PC under %AppData%\Roaming\KeepAwake\.
Machine ID — a hardware fingerprint derived on-device (not your Windows username). Used for Pro account locking and support.
Pro sign-in session — if you sign in, the app stores an auth token locally to keep Pro active between launches.
Update checks — on launch the app may requestnakeldev.com/keep-awake/latest.json (version info only).
Optional crash reports — if enabled in a build, anonymized error data may be sent to Sentry. No payment or password data is included.
Freemium sponsor slot — non-Pro users may see a small banner loaded from our server (ops.nakeldev.com). Pro users do not see it.

What we collect when you buy Pro

Checkout — country and email on nakeldev.com; payment card details are processed by Bachs. We never receive your full card number in the app or on our checkout form.
Account — email, hashed password, country, purchase reference, and (after first app sign-in) the Machine ID your account locks to. Stored on our secure backend (Cloudflare Workers + KV).
Welcome email — we email your login password once via our email provider (Resend). Keep that email private.

How we use data

Deliver and support Pro access
Send purchase and account emails
Prevent fraud and enforce one-PC-per-account
Improve stability (optional crash reporting)
Publish app updates

We do not sell personal information to data brokers.

Retention

Account and order records are kept while your Pro access is active and for a reasonable period afterward for support, tax, and dispute resolution. You may request deletion by emailing us (see Contact).

Your rights

Depending on your region you may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold. Email us and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

Keep Awake is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy when the product changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change accordingly. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
